Astro Fashion Forecast for 2010

The Astro fashion chart for 2010 very neatly reflects the mood of the country and the recession in which the UK remains - despite some optimistic public relations efforts of the UK government. 

Saturn, the planet of austerity, on this chart’s Ascendant warns of the need to be thrifty and to be spending very carefully, making every penny count and getting good value for money. “Re-cycling” is the buzz word, now.

Fashion trends will be inspired by past images that are traditional and classic and the most popular fashion items are likely to be practical and adaptable rather than glamorous. That said, though, uberglam will appeal on a special treat basis – investing in a fabulous wedding or celebration evening dress, for example, where the occasion is memorable and the item will become a handed down keepsake.

Generally, women will be looking for comfort combined with elegance, and demanding a silhouette that will work professionally and domestically – something that combines adaptable and smart with sort and chic – quite a challenge for high stress designers!

In fact, High Street fashion is likely to veer towards the more authoritative look and to favour black and white and solid dark colours at the violet end of the spectrum but dark shades of brown will also be popping up and grabbing your attention.

However, silvery sheens, soft grey, reflective fabrics and shades of russet and green will also be out there in those soft and elegant shapes and fabrics that women will be seeking this year – even if they take a little extra effort to find.
